Dapper Wish #4: Untitled

These past few weeks have been pretty hard for me. It's mostly internal struggles I have that no one but me and God know about (until I vaguely reference them on the Internet). Without delving into what those things are, they left me feeling weak and this incredible sadness. How do I deal? I draw. So instead of drawing something that was sad, which is what I felt, I decided to draw something I see as a strong vibrant image. Something I can look at in the future and feel empowered. Presenting Dapper Wish #4.

Dapper Wish #3: Bulletproof

I was behind this week, party people. I set a schedule for myself to get Dapper Wish posted every week on Tuesday. Well, it is Saturday. I've had one of the busiest weeks ever and was determined to not let the week pass without uploading a piece of work. I'm an artist, so I have to create things. I'm also strict on myself at times and I have to reach my goal of a piece a week for a year. So although this is late, here is Dapper Wish #3. I was inspired by La Roux's "Bulletproof". Her pompadour is just so huge it's hard to miss. And I secretly want to style my hair like this someday (oops secret's out).

Dapper Wish #2: Cry For You

This week I was inspired by September's "Cry For You" and the album cover for the single. The Red-orange shawl she's wearing just jumped out at me and I had to get it out of my head.
If you want to check out the single. It's a dose of electro-pop goodness! September- Cry For You

Dapper Wish #1

Hello, party people! Welcome to the first installment of Dapper Wish. I had an epiphany the other day. I haven’t really drawn anything since I got my degree two years ago. Aside from logo and website sketches, I haven’t completed a piece. That’s sad and scary. I’m a fine artist at heart, but I let my day-to-day job overtake the fine artist in me. So, I decided to challenge myself with posting one finished work of art every week for a year. Daunting, yes? Mind you my schedule only allows for so much, so don’t expect Masterpieces. This is just my journey back to the art world. One down, 51 to go. Whew!
